GHIMBAV

The church in Ghimbav reports several new teens in the youth group have professed Christ as Savior, but are unsure about baptism. This is an age-old problem for us here in Romania. Bro. Mihai also has a new youth leader in the church that has been a great asset. The church will be taking 23 teens to camp this year. I am pleased with the growth of the youth group under its new leadership.

Bro Rob baptizing of a lady from Emmanuel House at Dumbravita Missionary Baptist Church.

DUMBRAVITA

The church in Dumbravita is growing spiritually and numerically. We added two new members this past month and several visitors.  I took the youth group to the delta this past week. This is an area in the south of the country where the Danube River flows into the Black Sea. Many of them had never been on a boat. We took a ferry three and a half hours to the small fishing village where we stayed, because there are no roads. While on the ferry we were able to witness to several people and sang songs of praise to a “captive audience”. We really enjoyed the trip and had a good time of fellowship.

PERSANI

I ask that you pray for the leaders in the church in Persani. Bro. Florin, and Bro. Daniel, and Sister Roxana need your prayers. We had two teenage girls come this month confessing Christ as Savior and want to follow the Lord in baptism. Baptism is a big step in the village there, so I am hoping others will follow their lead. I feel that our work with the children in Persani has been our most rewarding ministry there and is going very well.  I know that the children appreciate what we are trying to do for them.

EMMANUAL HOUSE

The women’s shelter is doing well. All the rooms are full. We have a new lady with two small children (an 18 month old and a 1 month old). She came to us badly beaten after coming home from the hospital with her premature baby. Keep everyone at the home in your prayers including Sis. Brenda, her job is not an easy one.

CHURCH CAMP

This week we will be in camp with the adults. The following week will be a children’s camp, and then a week with the teens. With all the camps combined I believe we will have about 125 campers. This will be a combined effort of all three of our churches.  The main building is not finished yet. We are presently working on the roof, and hope to be ready for church camp next year.

We may have a family moving to the camp to guard and keep up the property. This week the police in Brasov called and told us about a family that has been living on the edge of the city. The young man worked as a cowhand and lived with his wife and 3 children in a small cabin on the ranch. The owner of the ranch sold out and they had been on the street for 3 weeks. It has rained almost every day this month, so the children were wet, cold, and sick.

Work progresses on the main building at Camp Strumba.

Pray that we will be able to show this family the love of Christ Jesus and help them understand their need for salvation, and that they would respond to His love.

TRANSPORTATION

I hesitate to mention our ongoing transportation problems. I believe you all understand how important vans are to the work here because you have been so faithful to help us in the past. The problem is that vans are so expensive here. We usually buy an older van and repair it. At present, we must have two working vans. Of our two 9 passenger vans, one is 15 years old and is completely worn out, while the other is in the shop with transmission problems. I would like, with your help and God’s grace, to start working toward buying a new 15-passenger van that will not be in constant need of repair, that all of our students can go together to seminary in, and that will lessen my ever rising stress level. In order to purchase a new 15-passenger van, we need to make a down payment of $10,000 and some help with the monthly notes. I believe that this will be a tremendous help to our Lord’s work here and make our lives much easier. Once again, we thank all of you and our gracious Lord for your support and prayers.  “The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.  Amen.” (1 Thessalonians 5:28).
