December 2002 Help Wanted I suppose that this is the top heading for my letter this month, because it is first and foremost in my mind. I wrote to you last month of dissolving my construction team here and told you that my dad, Frank Blume, is here helping me with renovations at the ladies home. This has been such a blessing, but there is still so much to do and he will be leaving the first week in February. The rooms downstairs will not be finished when he leaves. Construction will be put on hold for a while. We have the following projects which need to be completed: Ladies and Children’s Home …Finish downstairs bedrooms …Living room and Dining room in the main house need to be sheet-rocked and painted …The main house will have to have a new roof this next year …A barn needs to be built for animals so that we will have a cheaper source of meat, milk, and eggs. Church Camp …Main building – right now we have only a foundation. We finished up with this just before winter set in. There is more, but these are some of the more pressing needs. We would love to have a team or individuals come this spring and help short term. Keep this need in your prayers, and if you have construction experience we hope you will prayerfully consider coming and helping us in the Lord’s work here in Romania.
Churches It grieves me to tell you about our loss in Dumbravita. Brother Nelu, our pastor there, resigned this month. He told the church that he has personal problems that he could not explain further, but assured them that it was nothing they had done. He was very emotional, and the church mourned the loss. They begged him to stay, but he said that he could not. Dumbravita is a strong church and I while know this will be hard, with God’s help we will continue to move forward. I have taken on all of the services there, while Brothers Florin and Daniel continue to work in Persani. This work continues to be a challenge. Ghimbav is really doing well with attendance high. A New Year For New Years Eve the churches met in Ghimbav. We all had a wonderful time in the Lord. I have faith that God has a wonderful plan for the work here in the year ahead. I pray that God will give me the strength and the wisdom to fulfill His plan through Him.
